Breaking the Silence... WALK 2003 Breaking the Silence Walk 2006 Donations/Donor Campaign
|
The day our son's died our lives changed for ever! We were propelled into this community where no one wants membership to. There is nothing we or anyone else can do that will bring our children back. Through the telling of our stories we help to bring awareness of this silent issue to our community. With the implementation of suicide prevention, intervention and postvention programs, lives will be save. As we reach out in support of each other, we continue to heal. By attending national conferences we are able to educate ourselves as well as networking with professionals and grassroots organizers, who too have lost love ones through death by suicide. We are able to bring back some valuable resources to share with our community. Our life's mission has become this work, the day our son's died. We are committed and focused to do this work. This trip to Washington DC, will help train us in advocacy work, Gatekeepers, media, organizing our state or region, intro to mental illness and we will share with others as to what is going on in each state. We will meet senators. September 2006, Trip to Washington, D.C. Fundraisers help to pay for supplies needed for the Public Awareness Presentations, professional training for staff, and all the many expenses necessary in Support of Suicide Prevention Awareness and Outreach to our community. Fundraisers: None in the making at this time. Donations are welcome!
